Ethel Virginia Osborne, age 92, of Roanoke, died Monday, February 11, 1991. Mrs. Osborne joined the First Christian Church at age 7 where she attended for a number of years. She transferred her membership to the Westhampton Christian Church where she has been a member for the last eleven years. Mrs. Osborne worked for the Roanoke City Schools for 32 years. She was a member of the Valley View Garden Club, an honorary life member of the Roanoke Council of Garden Clubs, and the State Federation of Garden Clubs. She also was an honorary member of the Nature Camp for Children sponsored by the State Federation. Mrs. Osborne is survived by her husband of 66 years, Louis Ernest Osborne of Roanoke. She was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel L. and Beulah Hancock Aliff. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 13, at 10:30 a.m. at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel with the Rev. W.L. Bingham Jr. and Dr. Joe C. Detamore officiating with burial to follow in Evergreen Burial Park. Friends may call Tuesday from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel.
