MOTORIST SAYS HE WAS ROBBED ON STREET

Roanoke police have charged a Southwest Roanoke man with robbing a 35-year-old man at gunpoint as the man slowed for traffic on a Southeast Roanoke street early Monday.

James Robert told police he was driving on Eighth Street and had slowed for traffic when a man dressed as a woman opened his passenger door and got in the car.

Paul Matthew Holt of the 500 block of Allison Avenue has been charged with robbery and using a firearm in the commission of robbery.
