Albert Edward Gormican, age 92, and formerly of Roanoke, died Sunday afternoon at the home of his daughter in Asheville, N.C. He was the widower of Edith Mabel Edmondson Gormican (who died in 1986) and a member of Our Lady of Nazareth Catholic Church. Mr. Gormican was a native of Michigan and a son of the late Francis and Julia O'Grady Gormican. After living most of his life in Roanoke, he moved to Asheville in 1982. Mr. Gormican was a retired credit manager with McKesson & Robbins Pharmaceutical Firm, a Navy veteran of World War I, and a member of the Roanoke BPOE. Surviving are three daughters, Evelyn Kunz, Willingboro, N.J.; Mary Nofsinger, Woodbridge, Va.; Jane Campbell, Asheville, N.C.; a sister, Julia Frances, Nazareth, Ky.; a brother, David Gormican, St. Leo's, Fla.; ten grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. After a Rosary and Funeral Mass Tuesday and Wednesday in Asheville, graveside services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Thursday from Saint Andrews Cemetery (Roanoke) with the Rev. Kenneth Stoftt officiating. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Wednesday at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel.
