Opal Rigney Reed, age 83 of Route 1, Pulaski, died Tuesday morning in Radford Community Hospital. Born October 28, 1907 in Pulaski Co., Va., she was the daughter of the late James J. Rigney and Susan Boothe Rigney. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Reed. Survived by four sisters, Ida Akers Draper, Virgie Saunders, Pulaski; Georgia Nichols, Mt. Airy, N.C.; Vivian Williams, Knoxville, Tenn. Funeral service will be held Thursday 11:00 a.m. from Thomas M. Seagle & Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Cecil Baxter officiating. Burial will follow in Dublin Cemetery. Visiting will be Wednesday from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
