Woodrow G. (Woody) Hurd, age 67, of 608 Ridge Mountain Dr., died Wednesday, February 13, 1991, in the VA Medical Center, Salem. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Doris Howell Hurd; one daughter, Lisa L. Hurd, Manasass; one son and daughter-in-law, Douglas L. and Leigh Wood Hurd, Boones Mill; one precious grandson, Thomas Christopher (T.C.) Hurd; four brothers and two sisters-in-law, Richard A. and Pauline Hurd; Melton L. and Thelma Hurd, all of Roanoke; James W. Hurd, Fla.; Warren R. Hurd, Wis.; one sister, Mrs. Marie H. Frye, Roanoke; two brothers-in-law and two sisters-in-law, William J. and Hazel S. Howell, Roanoke; Carlton L. Howell, Williamsville; sister-in-law, Edith Lorraine Dillon and brother-in-law, Charles M. Dillon; Fort Royal; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted from Oakey's North Chapel at 1:00 p.m. Friday, February 15, with the Rev. James H. Steele, pastor of Boones Mill Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at Oakey's North Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Thursday.
