RED CROSS GETS MONEY FROM SHIRTS

A Radford sportswear company gave an $800 check Wednesday to the Montgomery County Red Cross as part of the money raised from the sale of "Desert Storm Troop Supporter" shirts in the county.

Most of the DJR Enterprises sweatshirts and T-shirts with the five-color Persian Gulf imprints were sold at the New River Valley Mall. Others were sold at the company's Blacksburg store.

The sweatshirts are $20 and the T-shirts $12. DJR donates $2 per shirt sold to the Red Cross in the locality where the sales take place.

The company presented a $442 check to the Pulaski Red Cross last month.

Phyllis Shuford, a company representative, said the sales of the shirts are continuing and will generate more Red Cross money.
