ETHICIST TO SPEND WEEK AT CLINCH VALLEY COLLEGE

Dr. David Thomasma, a medical ethics professor at Loyola University Medical Center, will be in residence for a week starting Sunday at Clinch Valley College under a Woodrow Wilson Visiting Fellows Program.

Thomasma, also a Catholic theologian, will give a public talk on campus Tuesday at 1 p.m. about euthanasia and social policy.

At 7:30 that night, he will join a panel discussing health care delivery costs, with philosophy professor David Rouse as chairman. Other participants will be Betty Johnson, a nursing professor from the University of Virginia at Clinch Valley this year to establish a nurse program; Dr. Charles Maine, an internal medicine specialist; and Don McCamey, District 24 secretary-treasurer of the United Mine Workers of America.

Thomasma will take part in a student symposium Feb. 20 on "The Just War." He will participate in classes and discuss ethical issues with student groups.
