FINCASTLE TO LEASE NEW TRACTOR TO RESIDENTS

The Fincastle Town Council has decided to lease its newly purchased tractor to residents who have water or sewer lines that need to be repaired.

Residents who rent the town's tractor to repair lines on their property must pay $35 an hour with a one-hour minimum, council decided Tuesday night. Those who live outside the town limits must pay $45 an hour with a three-hour minimum, plus a $35 service charge.

Council agreed to change the name of Mineral Springs Road to Blue Ridge Turnpike Road at the request of the Botetourt County Street/Road Name Program.

Council approved a public authority agreement from Appalachian Power Co. for service to the town's water/sewer system, the town office and outdoor lighting system for a three-year term that began July 1, 1990.
