John David Fix, 67, died February 13, 1991, at his home. He was born in Rockbridge County, September 28, 1923, the son of the late Fred L. and Dorothy F. Fix. He was a member of the Raphine Christian Church. Surviving are his wife, Annie Lee Fix; two daughters and two sons-in-law, Bill and Margaret F. Atkins and Vernon and Midjie F. Hudson, all of Vinton; six sisters, Mrs. Betty Ball, Mrs. Effie Clark and Mrs. Doris Henickens, all of Fontana, Calif.; Mrs. Mary Miller, Middlebrook; Mrs. Llllie Higgins, Fairfield; Mrs. Frances Floyd, Lexington; two brothers, Thomas Fix, Maryland; Freddie Fix, Fontanta, Calif.; six grandchildren, Melissa Benge, Blue Ridge; Douglas Benge, Vinton; David and Shawn Nakhle, Vinton; David and Jennifer Hudson, Vinton; one great-grandchild, Chasidy Funderburk, Bedford. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Saturday by the Rev. John Ward at the Raphine Christian Church. The burial will follow at the New Providence Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday at the Lomax Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Fairfield Rescue Squad.
