Frances Ilene Carter Peak, age 63, of Route 4, North Tazewell, formerly of Dublin, died Thursday in a Bluefield hospital. Born in Clinchfield she was a daughter of the late Elmore and Paula Rasnake Sutherland. She was a member of the First Assembly of God Church at North Tazewell. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Roy Carter and six brothers. Survivors include her husband, B. C. Peak Jr.; three daughters, Mrs. Phillip (Carol) Baldwin, Waynesboro; Mrs. Wayne (Ann) Herald and Mrs. James (Sue) Murray, both of Dublin; three stepsons, the Rev. Thomas Peak, North Tazewell; the Rev. Ray Peak, Johnstown, Pa.; Paul Peak, Lexington, Ky.; two sisters, Cora Grizzle, Lebanon, Va.; Kathleen Stevenson, Partlow, Va.; one brother, Claude Sutherland, North Tazewell; three grandchildren and eight stepgrandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Saturday at the First Assembly of God Church in North Tazewell with the Rev. John Branch officiating. Committal services will follow at 4:00 p.m. at the Highlands Memorial Gardens Mausoleum in Dublin. Friends may call at the mausoleum after 3:30 p.m. Saturday. Friends may call at Peery & St. Clair Funeral Home in Tazewell from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Friday.
