OBIT BILLINGS, A.

Alberta Richardson Billings, age 76, of Route 2, Marion, died Wednesday, February 13, at the Smyth County Community Hospital. She is survived by her husband, Walt Billings of Marion; a daughter, Phyllis B. Wallace, Greenville, S. C.; a son, Harold Billings of Roanoke; a sister, Nellie Jackson of Bedford; three brothers, Vivian Richardson, Hubert Richardson and Alfred Richardson, all of Bedford; four grandchildren, Paige and Peter Wallace and Steve and Shannan Billings. Funeral service will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 16, at the Chilhowie Baptist Church with the Rev. David Love and the Rev. Charles Blevins officiating. Interment will follow in the Middlefork Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 9:00 Friday evening at the funeral home. Deacons of Chilhowie Baptist Church will serve as pallbearers. The body will be placed in the church one hour prior to the service. Memorial donations may be made to the Chilhowie Rescue Squad. Newberry Funeral Home in Chilhowie is in charge of arrangements.
