VINTON DISTRIBUTOR SOLD TO PA. COMPANY

Craighead Distributing Co., a Vinton distributor of potato chips and other snack foods, has been sold to UTZ Quality Foods of Hanover, Pa.

Dale and Ruth Craighead have operated the company, which employes about 12 people, about 18 years. They will continue in the business.

The building was sold for $242,000, but the selling price of the company was not reported.

UTZ distributes food from New Jersey to North Carolina.

The firm's name probably will be changed to UTZ Quality Foods, Ruth Craighead said. The company operates in a 7,000-square-foot building in Vinton Industrial Park. - Staff report
