PULASKI CO. HOLDS ON TO RVD LEAD

Dublin - Cindy Martin scored 21 points, and Terri Garland added 15 points to go along with nine assists and nine rebounds as Pulaski County remained in a tie for first place in the Roanoke Valley District by beating Franklin County 65-44 on Tuesday night.

Garland got nine first-quarter points from Garland to take a 21-10 lead. The Cougars (17-1 overall, 9-1 in RVD) extended that advantage to 35-20 at the half, with Martin getting 13 points by the break.

Leanna Jones added 10 points and 11 rebounds for Pulaski County, and Becky Smith scored 12. Lottie Huffman paced Franklin county with 16 points. FOR

\ UVa-State rematch tickets on sale

\ CHARLOTTESVILLE - Tickets are on sale at the University of Virginia athletic ticket office for top-ranked Virginia's women's basketball game with North Carolina State at 1:30 p.m. on Feb. 23 at University Hall.

The Cavaliers' 123-120 victory against the Wolfpack in three overtimes set an NCAA record for scoring in a women's game.

Tickets are $3 for adults and $1 for youths 18 and under. University of Virginia students are admitted free, but must pick up their tickets before the game at the ticket office.
