CAR SHOW, AUTOCROSS TO BENEFIT MUSCULAR DYSTROPHY ASSOCIATION

More than 80 cars of various styles will be on display Feb. 22-24 at the 11th annual Muscular Dystrophy Car Show at the Roanoke Civic Center.

Commercial booths selling car parts and accessories will be open and there will be door prizes and a model car contest.

The show will be open Feb. 22 from 5 until 11 p.m., Feb. 23 from 10 a.m. until 11 p.m. and Feb. 24 from noon until 5 p.m. Admission is $5 for adults, $1.50 for children ages 6-12. Children younger than 6 will be admitted free. All proceeds will benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

In conjunction with the car show, the Blue Ridge Region of the Sports Car Club of America will sponsor the "Frigid Bowl Autocross," a driving-skill event, Feb. 24 in the civic center parking lot.

Drivers must be at least 18 years old and present a valid driver's license. All cars must pass a safety inspection. Registration begins at 9 a.m. and the first car will begin the course at 11.

The entry fee is $10 for members of any car club or $12 for non-members, with proceeds to benefit MDA. For more information, call Mark Bailey at 342-9852.
