GALAX - William Sturley "Shorty" Huffman, age 73, passed away Friday in Twin County Community Hospital. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mamie Horton Huffman; one son, Dale Huffman, Galax; two sisters, Hazel Miller and Lessie Miller, both of Winterhaven, Fla.; one brother, Vance Hoffman, Galax. The funeral service will be Sunday at 2:00 p.m. in the Gladeville United Methodist Church with burial in the Monta Vista Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home, Galax. Flowers will be appreciated or donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.
