COMEDY TO BE PERFORMED AT OLIN THEATER

Beth Henley's "Miss Firecracker Contest" will be presented Feb. 20-23 by Theatre Roanoke College in the college's Olin Theater.

The comedy takes place in the small Mississippi town of Brookhaven a few days before the Fourth of July as Carnelle Scott rehearses for the Miss Firecracker Contest.

Her efforts to win the pageant and salvage her tarnished reputation are complicated by the arrivals of her cousin Elain and her eccentric brother Delmount, recently released from a mental institution.

The play chronicles their escape from unhappy pasts.

Performances are nightly at 8 p.m. Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for senior citizens and students. For reservations, call 375-2333.
