OBIT BAILEY, E.
BAILEY, E. LAWSON/ E. Lawson Bailey, age 68, of Roanoke County, died Friday
night in a local hospital. He was an Army veteran of World War II, a member of
the Retired Officers Association, a board member of the Adult Care Center of
the Roanoke Valley, and a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church. He was the
retired customer service manager at Appalachian Power Company and was active
in the Roanoke Appalachian Retired Employees Association. Surviving are his
wife, Mavis Bailey; daughter, Rebecca Shannon, Richmond; son and
daughter-in-law, Anthony and Elizabeth Bailey, Bedford; three grandchildren.
Services will be held at St. Paul's Episcopal Church at 11:00 a.m. Monday with
the Rev. Robert T. Copenhaver officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen
Burial Park. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorials be made to
the Adult Care Center of the Roanoke Valley on Liberty Road in Roanoke, Va.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Sunday at Oakey's South
Chapel.
