OBIT RAKES, H.

Hinda Cannaday Rakes, age 95, of Pulaski, died Friday night in the Radford Community Hospital. She was born in Floyd, Va., July 17, 1895, the daughter of the late Amos Cannaday and Della Hall Cannaday. She was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Grover Rakes. Surviving are one son, Daniel A. Rakes, Pulaski; one grandson, Daniel M. Rakes, Woodbridge, Va.; three sisters, Minnie C. Uzzell, Roanoke; Naomi C. Sharpe, Elm City, N.C.; Irene C. Vest, Memphis, Tenn.; several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. from the Sunset Cemetery, Christiansburg, with the Rev. Cecil Baxter officiating. Visiting will be held Monday evening at Stevens Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family wishes that memorials be made to the Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church, Robinson Tract Road, Pulaski.
