Chris Corchiani hit a free throw and bonus with 20 seconds left to give the Wolfpack the 60-59 lead. Corchiani fouled Chris Smith with 4.6 seconds remaining, but the Huskies weren't in the bonus situation yet so they got the ball out of bounds.
Smith missed a 15-foot shot with three seconds left, and Scott Burrell's tip-in attempt bounced off the back of the rim and out.
The Wolfpack (15-7), who scored 10 points under their previous low this season, are the first non-Big East team to beat the Huskies (15-8) at Storrs Field House in the 55 games since Connecticut joined the conference. It was only N.C. State's fourth victory in 11 games on the road.
