SEA BASS A RECORD

A 9-pound, 8-ounce sea bass boated by Jack Stallings Jr. of Virginia Beach has been certified as a tie for the Virginia state record. The fish was caught Dec. 23 southeast of Virginia Beach.

Stallings is applying for world record status for the all-tackle and 30-pound class record.

The catch equals a fish caught by Joe Mizelle Jr. of Norfolk, Jan. 9, 1987.
