PLAY TRYOUTS AT VA. WESTERN

Open tryouts for French playwright Jean Anouilh's adaptation of "Antigone" will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. and Monday, Feb. 25, at 7 p.m. at Virginia Western Community College auditorium, 3095 Colonial Ave. S.W.

Male and female parts for the play based on Sophocles' tragedy are available for 12 actors. Supporting roles include Antigone's sister, Ismene, her nurse, a page, a messenger and three guards.

Technicians and stagehands are also needed.

A $75 award from the Donald Willson Memorial Scholarship Fund will be given to the best actor and technician.
