CARTER, HATTIE M.

Mrs. Hattie Mae Carter of Lakeview Manor passed away Saturday, February 16, 1991. She was the widow of William P. Carter. She was a member of Carrie Lee Chapter No. 108 of the Order of the Eastern Star and a member of West End United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Ella Jeanne Griffin Hatcher. Surviving are her granddaughters, Mrs. Lawrence C. (Nancy) Sherertz, Roanoke; Mrs. James M. (Vicki) Snead, Charlottesville; Mrs. John (Elaine) Henderson, Arlington; six great-grandchildren; one stepson and one stepdaughter. Services will be conducted from the graveside at Sherwood Memorial Park at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Phillip E. Sims officiating. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to West End United Methodist Church or to the Arthritis Foundation, 4340 Old Cave Spring Road, S.W., Roanoke, Va., 24018. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Monday at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel.
