Police said Zara Gurganious of 15th Street Southeast gave the man several hundred dollars and he ran.
Gurganious was walking near the intersection of Franklin Road and King George Avenue Friday about 12:30 p.m. when the man hit her in the back.

A 45-year-old Hopewell man was stabbed in the stomach with a hunting knife Saturday evening following a dispute in the 800 block of Hunt Avenue Northwest. John D. Browning was in satisfactory condition at Roanoke Memorial Hospital on Sunday. Timothy Eugene Peters, 28, of the 2300 block of Lynhurst Avenue was charged with malicious wounding.
Two youths aged 14 and 15 prearranged a fight over a girl at the Indian Village Housing Project early Sunday. One of the boys showed up with several knives. The 15-year-old was cut on the chest, taken to Roanoke Memorial Hospital, treated and released. Police are seeking a juvenile petition against the 14-year-old.
Myrtle C. Kier, 87, was walking through the SuperX parking lot on 19th Street Northwest when a young man grabbed her purse and knocked her to the ground. A witness told officers the robber escaped in a gray station wagon - with Kier's $18, police said.
Clinton Maxwell Walker, 41, was attacked by four people in the 500 block of Harrison Avenue Northwest Sunday night. Walker told police a passing car stopped and three men and a woman got out and began to beat him about 10 p.m. He was treated at Roanoke Memorial Hospital.
Edwin Anthony Friend, 21, of Daleville, was robbed of a gold necklace after a man flagged his car down in the 1800 block of Melrose Avenue Northwest about 9:40 p.m. Sunday. Friend told police he was thrown from his car. The car was later found several blocks away.
