Fred Linwood Mitchell, Jr., age 47, of Macon, Ga., passed away Monday, February 11, at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta. He was born in Virginia, a long time resident of Georgia, a Vietman veteran, and an engineer with Norfolk Southern Railroad. Survivors include his wife, Diane Capell Mitchell, Macon, Ga.; children, Brian W. Mitchell, John R. Mitchell, and Mark A. Mitchell, all of Valdosta, Ga.; and Deanna L. Cantrell, Macon, Ga.; father, Fred L. Mitchell, Sr., Roanoke, Va.; brother, John S. Mitchell, Medford, Ore.; sister, Judy M. Hall, Fincastle, Va.; and granddaughter, Brittany Mitchell, Valdosta, Ga. Memorial services were held in Macon, Ga., with burial following at Mill Creek Baptist Church, Fincastle, Va. In his memory, the family requests that donations be made to your local Leukemia Foundation/American Cancer Society.
