HILLSVILLE - Mr. Joyce Barnard Ayers, age 91, of Hillsville, Va., died Tuesday morning in the Skyline Manor Nursing Home at Floyd. Mr. Ayers was born in Carroll County on July 29, 1899, son of the late William Madison and Agnes Harrell Ayers. He was a retired produce dealer and a member of the Mt. Bethel Moravian Church. Surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, Doris and Oren Hurst of Hillsville; four grandchildren, Carl Hurst of Boulder, Colo.; Scott Hurst of Salem; Eddy Merl Westmoreland of Hillsville; Kelly Wolfe, Roanoke; one brother, Byrum Ayers of Cana, Va; two sisters, Mrs. Nell Puckett of Tampa, Fla; Mrs. Lorraine Allen of Ararat, Va. Memorial services will be held Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at the Mt. Bethel Moravian Church conducted by the Rev. Dan Conrad. The Ayers family will receive friends at the Moody Funeral Home of Mt. Airy, N.C. on Wednesday night from 7:00 to 9:00. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Mt. Bethel Moravian Church Cemetery Fund, c/o Mrs. Eulala Dawson, Route 1, Cana, Va.
