PILOT - Lura Catherine Jewell, age 70, died Monday in a Roanoke hospital. She is survived by her husband, Frank Jewell; two daughters, Imogene Cunningham, Salem; Betty Carolyn Jewell, Pilot; four sons, Jesse Irvin Jewell and Douglas Wayne Jewell, both of Pilot; Junior Ralph Jewell, Christiansburg; Larry Ray Jewell, Raleigh, N.C.; four sisters, Lillie Bell Hale, Mary Lee Goodman, Josie Young, and Judy Harman; two brothers, Tommy Howard and Lawrence Howard; fifteen grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the Maberry Funeral Home Chapel, Floyd with the Rev. James R. Kittinger and Hugh Edward Howard officiating. Burial will be in Huffville Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Maberry Funeral Home.
