Turner, who played high school basketball at Patrick Henry in Roanoke, is a junior forward averaging 22 points and seven rebounds at Hampden-Sydney. He was a first-team All-ODAC and first-team All-South Atlantic selection last year. Turner has a 3.54 grade-point average and majors in economics and English.
Also on the team are Washington and Lee senior point guard Mike Holton and Lynchburg College junior forward Daryle Dooms. Holton, a business administration/accounting major, has a 3.86 GPA. Dooms, a management major, has a 3.76 GPA.
VMI junior forward Charlie Petzold was the top vote-getter. Petzold, who played in 19 games before being sidelined by bone spurs in his heels, majors in civil engineering and has a 3.436 GPA.
Guard Kerry Evert of Oglethorpe and David Wolf of Rollins complete the team.
