But members of the nine-member committee are not releasing the number of applicants remaining - or any other information about them, said Linda Steele, a college spokeswoman.
"The committee has assured the candidates that the process would be extremely confidential from beginning to end," she said.
Candidates for the presidency - the eighth since the college was formed - come from across the country, Steele said.
Officials had hoped to announce a new president by March 1, but now expect the decision to take a little longer.
Paula Brownlee, the college's president for nine years, stepped down Aug. 31 to head the Association of American Colleges in Washington, D.C.
