Alvina C. Mathis is being held without bail on two charges of murder in the Feb. 7 deaths of her children, 4-year-old Billy Flot and 6-year-old Amber Flot, said Hampton police Capt. R.E. Bingman.
The children were found dead in the master bedroom of the family's home. A charcoal grill was smoldering in the room. Mathis was taken to a hospital and treated.
Bingman said the charges are based on evidence found at the home and on statements Mathis made when police arrived at the home Feb. 7.
