Leonard (Leo) W. DeVenny, Sr., age 91, died Tuesday, February 19, 1991, in a local nursing home. He was a retired machinist for the C and O Railroad Co. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Nellie H. DeVenny, Clifton Forge; six daughters, Mrs. Ann D. Jabbour, Roanoke; Mrs. Barbara Wilkinson, Yucaipa, Calif.; Mrs. Gladys D. Jeffries; Mrs. Jean D. Buchanan; Mrs. Martha D. Boucher, all of Clifton Forge; and Ina Cales, Covington; one son, Leonard W. DeVenny, Jr.; Leavenworth, Kan.; 28 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Inez DeVenny, Baltimore, Md.; Mrs. Gladys DeVenny, Clifton Forge. Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 23, 1991, 11:00 a.m at the St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Stanislasus Chmura officiating. Interment to follow in Mount Carmel Cemetery, Low Moor, Va. A prayer service will be held Friday evening 7:00 p.m. Nicely Funeral Home, after which the family will receive friends.
