PIZZA DELIVERER HIT ON HEAD, ROBBED

A pizza delivery person was struck in the head and robbed Tuesday night when he stopped his car at an intersection in Southwest Roanoke.

Bob A. Wilkerson, an employee of the Brandon Avenue Pizza Hut, told police that he was at Mountain Avenue and First Street when two men approached his car.

Wilkerson told police that he was hit on the back of the head with a blunt instrument, and that he apparently lost consciousness for a few seconds.

When he came to, he told police, the two men were gone and $23 was missing from his pants pocket.
