PROFESSOR TO SPEAK ON RELATIONSHIPS

David Demo, associate professor in Virginia Tech's sociology department, will speak on parent-child relationships at 7 p.m. today at the Rainbow Riders Clubhouse, 2470 Ramble Road.

The one-hour program will focus on the changing American family, including how children are affected by divorce, single-parent families, dual-earner marriages and stepfamilies. Demo will also discuss what happens when parents and children don't spend much time together and when young children spend substantial time in day care settings.
