PEMBROKE MAN ARRESTED ON MARIJUANA CHARGES

Giles County sheriff's deputies arrested a Pembroke man Wednesday morning after finding 6 to 7 pounds of marijuana in the bedroom of his mobile home, authorities said.

Michael David McCroskey, 25, was charged with possession of marijuana and intent to distribute, Sheriff Larry Falls said.

Police entered the trailer just off Virginia 623 with a warrant and seized the marijuana, which was in six or seven plastic bags, and an assortment of rifles, pistols and shotguns, authorities said.

McCroskey was taken to the Sheriff's Department and was later released on bond, Falls said. The investigation is continuing.

The Pulaski County Drug Task Force, which is made up of officers from the Pulaski County Sheriff's Department, the Pulaski Police Department, alcohol law enforcement officers and the Virginia State Police assisted the Giles County Task Force.
