HOPE NEW VMI LACROSSE AIDE

Dave Hope, a former standout at VMI, has been hired as assistant coach of the Keydets' lacrosse program.

Hope, who led the nation in goals scored in 1987 with 56, will assist Doug Bartlett, who is entering his sixth season as head of VMI's program. The Keydets open the season on March 2 against Greensboro College.

Hope, who graduated from VMI in 1989, has spent the last year and a half as assistant coach at Virginia Wesleyan College in Norfolk. - Staff report
