AT&T REDUCING RATES FOR CALLS FROM TROOPS

AT&T reduced rates Thursday on telephone calls from Saudi Arabia, and the government said it would try to protect service families from losing phone service when they cannot pay the bill for gulf calls.

The Federal Communications Commission said it had taken steps to get rates reduced and to guard against cutoffs in local service when military families cannot pay unexpectedly high bills. - Associated Press
