RESERVES, GUARD GET FULL TRAINING

I'D LIKE to answer Woodrow H. Cox's letter Feb. 10. The Reserves and National Guard compose about two-thirds of America's military. They are also trained and equipped the same as a man on active duty who does his job seven days a week.

I'm proud to have given half my 54 years to the Army Reserves. Because I wasn't called, don't call me a softy who won't go. If it wasn't for farmers and town folks taking up arms in the Revolutionary War, I wonder where we would be now. JOSEPH DeWILDE WYTHEVILLE
