OBIT REDDEN, J.

Joseph Herbert Redden, age 81, of Roanoke, died Friday. He was a member of Belmont United Methodist Church and was a retired transportation consultant for the Chesapeake Western Railroad, Harrisonburg, Va. Mr. Redden was preceded in death by his wife, Henrietta Hicks Redden. Surviving are daughter, Sandra R. Richardson, Virginia Beach; son, Joseph L. Redden, Virginia Beach; five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Memorial Fund at Belmont United Methodist Church. Services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Belmont United Methodist Church with the Rev. Helen Casey-Rutland and the Rev. Harold M. Fuss officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Burial Park. The family will receive friends from 12`00 noon to 2:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Sunday and 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Monday at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel.
