George E. Shelton died Friday, February 22, 1991, after a short illness. He is survived by his wife, Edmonia B. Shelton; one son, Alan B. Shelton; two grandchildren, Alan B. Shelton, Jr., and Elizabeth Anne Shelton, all of Richmond; four sisters, May Hash, Beulah M. St.Clair, Katherine Powers, and Willie O. Darnell, also a number of nieces and nephews, all of Roanoke. Mr. Shelton was a former chemist at Larus & Brothers Company and the United States tobacco Company. The remains rest at Woody Funeral Home, Parham Chapel, 1771 Parham Road, Richmond, where the family will receive friends 3:00 to 5:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Sunday. Graveside services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday at Emmanuel Episcopal Church Cemetery, Richmond.
