GATEWAY CHRISTIAN CAPTURES ODACS TITLE

Tim Henderson scored 23 points to lead Gateway Christian past Heritage Christian 63-52 for the Group A Old Dominion Association of Church Schools state championship.

The Crusaders (16-7), who also won the state in 1986, pulled away in the fourth quarter with excellent foul shooting. Henderson hit seven of eight as Gateway went 13-for-14 in the final period.

Henderson was selected the tournament's most valuable player, and Dan Osborne made the all-tournament team.
