FISHBURNE MILITARY WINS CONFERENCE TITLE

Fishburne Military Academy outscored Carlisle 23-6 in the third quarter on its way to a 71-59 victory in the championship game of the Virginia Independent Conference basketball tournament.

Jerome Abbot scored 14 points, Rodney Santi 13 and John Allen 12 for Fishburne. Justin Mutch led the Chiefs with 23 points, followed by Brad Gunn with 14 and Donnie Pennington 10.
