The bride's gown was an original design by Mrs. Hunter Murphey (Ina). Is was created and made especially for the bride by her and Mrs. Robert Terry (Katherine), mother of the bride. It was made of crepe satin peau-de-soie, chantilly lace, and heavily beaded schiffli embroidered organza trim. The bodice featured a "Queen Anne" neckline, basque waist, and leg-of-mutton sleeves with chantilly lace from the elbow to the wrist. Draped strands of pearls filled the curved opening in the back. Throughout the skirt were numerous embroidered appliques decorated with beads and iridescent sequins. The twelve foot Royal train was accented with fan shaped inserts of chantilly lace and espritde-point trimmed with schiffli embroidered organza and venice lace. Heart shaped venice lace trimmed the elbow length veil which was attached to an almond shaped satin and lace covered hat. She carried a cascade bouquet of stephanotis, red roses, and baby's breath.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert McKinley Terry and the granddaughter of Mr. Charles Edward Parker and the late Clara Parker, and of Mrs. Charles Dalton Terry and the late Mr. Terry. She is a graduate of William Byrd High School and is employed by Julian Ferguson & Associates, Inc.
