Melanie Buchanan and Steve Smith were married February 23 in Grace Baptist Temple. Pastor Dave Huff officiated. The reception was held at the Holiday Inn-Airport. The maid of honor ws Kerri Hamblett. The bridesmaids were Dawn Graham and Donna Hollingsworth, sisters of the bride, and Vicky Poff. The best man was Mr. T. Smith, father of the groom. The ushers were Arthur Smith and Ralph Smith, brothers of the groom, and Harry Buchanan, brother of the bride. The guestbook was attended by Cindy Gillespie. The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. Lewis Buchanan of Roanoke. She is a graduate of Berea College, Berea, Kentucky. She is employed by Roanoke Memorial Hospitals. The groom, son of Mr. T. Smith and the late Mrs. Amy Smith of Vienna, Va., is a graduate of the University of Richmond and M.C.V. He is employed by Roanoke Memorial Hospitals. The newlywed will live in Roanoke after the wedding trip to Jamaica.
