BUENA VISTA - William (Jim) Albert Humphries, age 79, died February 24, 1991, in a Roanoke hospital. He was born in Amherst County September 11, 1911, the son of the late William and Fannie Wilmer Humphries. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margie Noel Humphries. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Shirley H. Byers, Buena Vista; Miss Lucille V. Humphries, Buena Vista; one son, William Ray Humphries, Buena Vista; two brothers, John Humphries and Archie Humphries, both of Madison Heights; one sister, Mrs. Ruth McClung, Spotsylvania; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Lomax Funeral Chapel by the Rev. Frank Figgers and the Rev. Jill Cranshaw. Burial will follow in the Rockbridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
