Dennie P. Denison Sr., age 90, of 4130 Vermont Avenue, N.W., died Sunday, February 24, 1991. He was an active member of Tabernacle Baptist Church where he had served as a deacon and Sunday School teacher. He was a retired teacher in the Roanoke City school system. He was predeceased by a son, Dr. W. Marshall Denison, in 1970. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Edna M. Denison; one son and daughter-in-law, Dennie P. Denison Jr. and wife, Dottie; one daughter-in-law, Gayle S. Denison, all of Roanoke; six grandchildren, Dennie P. Denison III, Robert S. (Chuck) Denison, W.M. (Wally) Denison, Rebecca D. Patsel, Ricky L. Chapman, and Rodney L. Chatman; six great-grandchildren; one brother, Marvin Denison, and two sisters, Mrs. Alma Nethery and Mrs. Bertha Webb, all of Kentucky; four stepchildren, Mrs. Betty Wilson, Roanoke; Mrs. Pat Wallace, Richmond; Bill Cochran, Alabama; David Cochran, Maryland; twelve stepgrandchildren; sixteen stepgreat-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted from Oakey's North Chapel at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 26, with burial in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at Oakey's North Chapel where the family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Monday.
