Calvert Dudley Getgood, age 76, of Roanoke, died Sunday, February 24, 1991. He was retired from United Piece Dye Works after 56 years in the textile industry. He was retired Vice President and General Manager, United Piece Dye Works, Blue Field, Va. He was the Founder of Bishopville Little League Baseball, Bishopville, S.C. and former member of the Rotary Club in Bishopville; charter member of Bishopville Country Club. He was a charter member of the Lions Club, Martinsville, Va.; was past President and Board Member of the Bluefield, W.Va Country Club. He is survived by his devoted wife of 45 years, Norma Ayers Getgood; one son, James S. Getgood, Augusta, Georgia; two daughters and sons-in-law, Frona G. and Bonn Poland, Martinsburg, W. Va.; Barbara G. and Steven D. Goodwin, Roanoke; six grandchildren, Sarah, Elizabeth, Bonn and David Poland; Lauren Getgood and Alisa Goodwin; one brother, Donald Getgood, Statesville, N.C. Funeral service will be conducted from Oakey's North Chapel, 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 27 with the Rev. Alan and Kathryn Rowbotham officiating. Entombment will be in Sherwood Abbey Mausoleum. Friends may call Oakey's North Chapel after 1:00 p.m. Tuesday.
