FIRE SALE IN PROGRESS AT GRAND PIANO

Grand Piano Furniture & Co. is trying by Saturday to clear merchandise damaged by smoke from a furnace fire a week ago.

Manager Ross Fletcher said the fire sale began Monday. Merchandise is marked down 30-70 percent.

A faulty furnace filled the store at 125 N. Main St. with thick smoke Feb. 17. Fletcher said a damage estimate had not been worked out with Grand's insurance carrier. "But we're practically giving this stuff away if that tells you anything at all," he said. All new merchandise will be stocked after the sale.
