NATIONAL POOLS PRESIDENT DIES

Gordon W. Rudd, president of National Pools of Roanoke, died Monday. He was 69.

Rudd, a pioneer in the swimming pool industry, was a charter member, director and regional vice president of the National Pool and Spa Institute and a former president of the Mid-Atlantic and Southeastern units of the organization. He was a past president of Northwest Revitalization Association in Roanoke. Rudd graduated from Purdue University and was a Navy veteran of World War II.

Surviving are his wife, Barbara Rudd, three sons, two daughters and six grandchildren.

The funeral will be Wednesday at 3 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church. Entombment will be in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.
