SHAWSVILLE - William B. (Bill) Conner, age 84, of 1851 Willis Hollow Road, died Monday evening, February 25, 1991 in Lewis-Gale Hospital. He was born in Floyd County, the son of the late Omar E. and Ettie G. Conner and is survived by his wife, Ocie E. Conner; six children, Joseph O. Conner, Virginia Beach; Owen W. Conner, Roanoke; Pauline C. Sutphin, Sylvia J. Wyatt, Kathleen C. Gravell, all of Shawsville; Audrey M. Dickerson, Hardy; two brothers, Ralph E. Conner, Roanoke; Ivan W. Conner, Shawsville; one sister, Gladys C. King, Shawsville; 28 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren. The funeral will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday from the Crockett Springs United Methodist Church, conducted by the Rev. William F. Monday and Rev. J.P. Hale with burial in Piedmont Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 Wednesday evening at the Richardson-Horne Funeral Home in Christiansburg.
