MAN SAYS ROBBERS TOOK HIM FOR RIDE

A man found walking in Craig County with no shoes or coat early Tuesday told police he was picked up by two men in Roanoke, beaten, robbed and dropped off on Potts Mountain.

Eric Emanual Brown, 28, of Hanover Avenue, was found by a highway worker about 5:25 a.m., Roanoke police said.

Also Tuesday, a Roanoke man was wounded by gunfire.

Anthony Wilson, of Hunt Avenue Northwest, told police that he was walking on Dupree Street about 2:45 a.m. when a car stopped and several men demanded he get in. One of the occupants shot him and the car sped off.
