MARK ANTHONY BEATON, son of Vicky Walker of Roanoke, Beaton recently completed the Federal Aviation Administration's nine-week Air Traffic Controller basic course at the FAA Academy in Oklahoma City. He is working toward the air traffic control journeyman classification.

\ BASIL OWENS JR., a Prudential Insurance Co. of America agent in the Roanoke District Office, has been named a quarterly winner in Prudential's quality service leaders program. The nationwide program recognizes employees who provide exemplary service to co-workers and customers.

\ BARBARA GREENBERG, a registered nurse from Roanoke, has been named director of nursing services at Meadowbrook Nursing Home in Shawsville. She has a master's degree from Duke University and has published numerous journal articles.
